Germany: Advise needed- car accident in Bavaria:
Hello,
My husband was recently in a car accident in Schweinfurt and I was wondering if anyone could give any advise to make sure we dont get screwed by the insurance company. It was the other persons fault and we are civilians here, not military. Its been 3 weeks since the accident and he has back injuries that have had him out of work due to pain. the insurance company has salvaged our car and we should get the money soon. The problem I have is that we are planning to move back to the US in one month. It looks like his back will not be fixed in one month so how should we make sure our bills from the US are payed for by the german insurance company? We were appointed a lawyer and she said to hand in any bills and she will see if she can get money back- but that isnt good enough for us- he has back injuries because of this accident and we dont want to have to pay for him to recover out of our pocket. Any advise on what we should do and or say to this lawyer/insurance company?
Germany: Shipping Car to USA?:
We purchased a car here in Germany (Frankfurt) and wanted to ship it back to the states (California) when we move back. Has anyone recently shipped a car to or from the states? Any recommendations on auto shipping companies? What fees, taxes, and information will I need to deal with? Is shipping it to east coast and having someone drive it across US better then having it shipped to California?
Thanks for any help
Norway: Need a moving service in Tromso:
Hello, we are moving from Tromso to Germany and we are looking for a moving company to truck our stuff. Does anyone know of any moving companies in Tromso?
Germany: Moving to Schweinfurt-apartments/housing:
Hello,
My husband and I are Americans moving to Schweinfurt for business. We were hoping someone had information about housing in Schweinfurt or adjoining areas. Like how to find apartments or houses? Is there a website or newspaper the housing is advertised in? We were hoping to find a sublet so we dont have to bring our furniture- are sublets available in Germany?
Also, we were thinking of staying in vacation rental for a few months to figure out the areas, so any information about long term rentals would be great as well.
Thank you for any information you can provide.
