I am an American expat moving to Oman for a job. I was curious about what to expect? Are there places to hang out? Is there an expat community? How conservative is it? How hot is it? Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Magnum Joe is 100% correct. Drop him like a hot potato. Why are you analyzing him? Who cares. You never see him, never met his family and he is a liar. I dont care if he is Egyptian, American, purple, green, etc... He's being a jerk.

Egypt: Jobs for English native speakers:

I respect Egyptian women but they are difficult to work with.. quote possibly due to jealousy. I don't think its wrong for Boudica to make both statements without being hypocritical or bipolar.
