Brazil: Working Visa for Brazil? How long....:

How long does it take to get a working visa for Brazil ?? I am in the process of getting my approval from the Ministry of Labor in Brazil to get a visa to work as a Visiting Professor at one of the Universities in Sao Paulo. Can I open a bank account to transfer money between USA and Brazil? Which banks? Wherte can I find information about apartment rentals, driving licenses, Brazilian Social Security number?
