Costa Rica: Relocating to Limon area:

Limon NOW is very very dangerous even the police will not work there afraid so crime is RAMPANT with heavy drug use murders etc..choose the Central Valley safer and ok if you buy a business and run it yourself ...

Costa Rica: Sustained income stream:

I have 6 dogs had many more rescued from the streets here,,BUT in General dogs here are not too popular nor well treated..so many Landlords will not accept them 26 years ago we had to pay a deposit PLUS 1,500 for a place to rent a dump with cockroaches Any wonder I bought FAST here? TRY to find first a Dog Friendly place online (try googling that) but TRY to avoid dangerous areas who will accept anyone and anything... I am such a dog lover and WISH I could mingle another few with my dogs but no way mine are gentle but territorial so tenants I feel bad if I must turn them down.... I will keep my eyes open WHAT is your budget and area?

Bluewind I notice that you are posting on MANY other country's ex pat pages.Nothing wrong with checking them out..but I suggest 2 things first DECIDE or narrow down where or IF you think you would like to move THEN start asking same questions on different sites saves us all so much time wasted on people still in the dreaming stage.,Oh and BTW I don;t think yet you should be advising people where t live especially when you mention Guatemala (without not knowing (obviously ) how DANGEROUS it and some other CR neighboring countries are .,I know Portugal well since I am British and know most of Europe BUT as nice as Portugal etc..are ,,comparing them to CR is not a wise move In fact we have ex pats here who left Portugal to live here YES? Pompy? Do your homeowork bluewind by all means but try not to cover the globe with repetitive questions AND advice ..BTW Belize and El Salvador are also VERY dangerous .and even American Embassy advises nit to visit those and some other C.A Countries.I have been to all of these countries Have YOU?

a good giggle ..so you mangaed to actually legally buy groceries?I was sure I saw signs outside of supermarkets that said "ALL Foreigners please keep out or go to jail" LOL oh well we had a little giggle and what's life without a giggle? Thanks ..:)

most things on " Trip "Advisor" is always just that "TRIPE" and often referred to as TRIPE "Advisor" so beware of their pre-paid ads for commissions..and if not bought they add PHONY bad "Reviews"

Costa Rica: About CIMA:

WOW Cima ??? you will not have trouble with an appt. ANYTIME because CIMA is the MOST expensive Hospital not just in CR but the world (I have Dr friends there and only use RARELY for expensive but thorough ultrasounds, MUCH more thorough than Mammograms which missed my BC for 7 years I was lucky to take it upon myself to go for.a private ultrasound in San Jose by a GREAT Lab (not cheap but cheaper than private hospitals especially CIMA) .I have been BC free for 18 years thanks to the GREAT treatment by Caja at both a Hospital San Juan de Dios and because of a malfunction of Rad machines many years ago :( I continued treatement chemo,rads and Herbs, in Liverpoool Canser Hospital FABULOUS and we laughed away the Cancer.. and with the help of the other UGH things) I went for rest of treatment in UK as I still have the right of free medicine in UK Wonderful IF only I could stand the cold winters (I found out last April I can NOT: although I miss my friends with their great sense of humor NOW CR is my home as the mild sunny climate in our area is awesome for me.. If you plan on using CIMA BE SURE to call for prices first..The other GREAT and slightly less expensive is La Catolica" near me just outside of San Jose. then there is Clinica Biblica the cheapest of the 3 mentioned.. DO you have Caja? because they treat Cancer patients very well and hardly a wait ..BUT if you want to know the lab in San Jose which FOUND the calcification that determined that it WAS Cancer ..(Despite being told that it was NOT by many Oncologists inUSA..who now say they changed their ideas that "IF the lump does not change and if it hurts it is only a cyst" Thanks to me and I am sure many others they now realize that is NOT TRUE!..So as for follow ups and discovery I (as well as my dr Friends in Many hospitals including CIMA ) recommend that Dr in her Lab in San Jose and she is a lovely lady and will have her secretary type up on a PC the results Immediately.Please dont MS me here as I now rarely bother to come here SO EMAIL me if you want to know who she is.. AGAIN I DISPUTE that as NONSENSE NOT SO HERE IN HEREDIA! ...even in our HILLS.. FAST efficient WIFI I guess Kohl chose the wrong place to live for many reasons.Ignore the propaganda! PLEASE!

I would REALLY advise re thinking about Belize I have had many guests tell me they were Terrified there especially in Belize city...which I read is one of the Murder Capitals of the world including Honduras . Good Luck
