Denmark: After moving to Denmark with a Dane partner - random police checks at new home?:
Hi,
I've been in a long distance relationship with a Dane for several years, and we've just started thinking of living together in Denmark. He lives in CPH and I believe the application for a residence permit based on family reunification after getting married there should be fine (fingers crossed).
I've just talked to a friend whose aunt got married to a German years ago. I don't know if it is still a common practice, but apparently they sometimes had the police coming in to their apartment to check if they are really living together; checking tooth brush, laundry box (to see if both of their clothes is in there), etc, without notifying them beforehand.
I'm now wondering if that sort of things are also common practice in Denmark. Has anyone heard of anything like this? I won't have anything to hide, but I'm very concerned as I certainly wouldn't appreciate to be treated like that, like a possible criminal of some sort.
