Philippines: Never Trust A Filipina:

I am sorry about your misfortunes But I do not think it's fair to stereotype a whole nationality . I know many good Filipinos. We also have our good and bad. Good luck and move on.

Panama: Condado del Rey:

Car rentals are cheap until you pay for the insurance. I was there for a couple of weeks to visit my daughter. I had no choice to rent a car for other reasons. Your insurance in the states will not cover you so you will have to buy thei insurance. Could'be another $60 per day. There are also tolls. I had my window broken during the night. Cops are everywhere , ( I was staying in Casco Viejo at the time) but we're no help. They told me to go to another part of town to file a report. It would have not helped. They are also likely to pull you over. I was following another car and a young officer stopped me and said I was going down a one way street. If I was it was not marked. We debated and he let me go. He was looking for cash. Tips if you are driving: Always carry passport Get the app maps.me. It will guide you around town without the internet. It's not perfect but definitely a plus. Cabs and über are cheap So mostlikely you don't need a car. Gas is about .68 / liter Parking can be tough in certain areas I had to pay off one cop at airport, long story but that one won. Google bribing cops in Panama, I should have never spoken Spanish. Most cops don't and get frustrated if u play the game' no hablo' Typical Latin American city, traffic, poor signage, crazy drivers and did I say traffic? I did not like Panama City at all. If you get out in the country,Boquete,El Valle, Bocas....Panama is beautiful

Panama: Daughter Coming 8/26:

My daughter will be moving there for a positon on August 26, I will come also for a week to help her get situated. She will work at the F&F Toweron Calle 50. She wants to live within twenty minutes. She has mentioned Villa Argentina. If any body has insight on places she could live, whether solo or with a family or whatever. She will be there a year for sure. Also any suggestions for me to stay for a week with her to help her find a place and get situated would be great! Gracias Marty

Panama: Daughter might receive employment in Panama City:

Happy New Year Feliz año nuevo My daughter might receive employment in Panama City with a travel/tourist/real estate company. She is a recent college graduate with some experience in Latin America(Argentina,Cuba and the Dominican Republic) if she receives the position I was considering possibly retiring there. I have also been researching some other countries. I am open to any advice. Gracias
