Jamaica: emigrating:
In my experience you cannot do anything in Jamaica without actually being there, my business, social life etc are always on a complete standstill when i am out of the country. If you can you should move over for 2-3months and use that time to research, contact people and apply!
Jamaica: Mosquitos:
the skin so soft range by AVON!! not marketed as mosquito repellent but i know plenty of people and myself included who find it keeps them away!

Hi!! yes to ship a car is very expensive and if it breaks down the parts may not be available on the Island to fix it?! However having a vehicle is neccessary. You need to take a trip out to the area and find your piece of land and its helpful if you have someone to help out there who you can trust. It is much easier to do business with Jamaica when you are in Jamaica. There are a few realtor websites like coldwell banker and marlene bell. If you go to the jamaica teachers association website you will find a directory of schools in your parish who you can contact regarding fees places are hard to come by though. Private schools vary from $600 a term to around $6000 a year, a few expats home school.

Jamaica: Moving To Jamaica Need advice from Locals Please & Thank U!:
Hey!! If you are not from a commonwealth country you need a work permit before you travel here. Jobs are very hard to find here as they are very far and few. I dont know any non jamaicans working here apart from in Kingston (or doctors/enginers) most non Jamaicans living here run businesses. You get what you pay for education wise here, I cant say anymore as I dont have children! I have lived in the UK and the cost of living is comparable to that here in Jamaica. I dont want to dampen your dreams but a lot of people come here 'up for it' and find that it is actually very hard work to live here and stay here long term - i just want to warn you that it will be very hard work, also think about Kingston as opposed to Mobay there are a lot more opportunities in the city!
Jamaica: Looking to move to Montego Bay:
Hi Shana, are you Jamaican? Jobs are allocated to Jamaicans over non Jamaicans and even with residency it is very hard, you should check out the work visa requirements first and then I suggest spending at least 3-6 months living in Jamaica first, you will find it is easier to make contacts and find out necessary information. If you're not a lawyer, doctor etc or opening a business I have found you need to have your finger in as many pies as possible!!
