Nicaragua: Residency:

I've been trying to get residency in El Salvador for a couple years now but am short just under $100 on my OAS/CPP Canadian pensions, have more than enough for Nicaragua. How easy is it to get residency there, can I bring in my 1997 car registered in El Salvador? I also have an El Salvador drivers license. What's the cost of property just off the beach, I currently own a home in Playa San Diego, El Salvador.

If you're from Latin America Canada doesn't want you. They would rather have some Asian terrorist. Just makes it near impossible for Canadians to get residency in Latin American countries.

El Salvador: Residency:

I am Canadian who just got my residency in July, I was able to renew my tourist visa for a further 90 days at the immigration office in San Salvador with no problem. Just tell them that you're in the process of getting residency, they are very cooperative. Make sure you have all documents from the UK & notarized, that you need before leaving for El Salvador, speeds the process up. I have also asked to join the fb group, wasn't aware one existed.

El Salvador: Opening a Bank Account in El Salvador:

I know this is an old thread but I opened an account at Banco ProCredit with only my Canadian passport + NIT card in 2010 No other bank will without a residency card but getting a residency card requires a bank account. Kind of a Catch 22.
