Colombia: For a 90-180 day trip what would you absolutely bring to COL:
Sorry to temporarily hijack this thread but is anyone else getting duplicate emails? It has been consistently like this for a week or so.
Colombia: Swim, bike, run and rent a durnished room or live with a family.:
Re: gym membership. I just joined Smartfit. 90,000 COP registration fee, 90,000 a year maintenance fee, and 50,000 a month. You decide if that is expensive.
Colombia: TP7 Pension Visa:
In Medellin I've recommended Inter-Col numerous times before. My cost this January was about 1,200,000 pesos.
Colombia: Thinking of moving to Colombia:
No it's not that simple. I recommend everyone read "Salt, Sugar, Fat: How the Food Giants Hooked Us" by Michael Moss. It's a miracle any of us are not obese. Btw, I'm the gentleman who experienced the home invasion in the finca south of Medellin. I'm now in Envigado and loving it.
Colombia: Are their good american italian and colombian restaurants i the Barrio San Antonio:
NS, you might want to mention what city/town you are in.
Colombia: Utility costs in Colombia:
I'm in a Estrata 3 location in Envigado. Not sure why it's so low as it's a nice area. For me: Direct TV Gold package 122,000; Epm 111,000; Une (wifi only) 65,000. SmartFit health club 50,000 per person.
Colombia: Moving to Barranquilla:
In my opinion, 6 million COP should be enough for 2 but you should come with a few thousand dollars seed money. You may need to pay the first 6-12 months rent up front. And you may need to purchase things like a refrigerator and washing machine right away.
Colombia: Medellin vs. Cali: Internet, Food Items, Transportation:
Speaking of bagels. I just found them in Medellin in a store called Cava de Quesos at the front of Oviedo mall. Delicious.
Colombia: WHERE IS OUR LOST MAIL?:
Remember the end of Raiders of the Lost Ark? That's where all the undelivered Colombian mail is stored. Lol. I use MBE from the US and have received everything but i don't have any advice for Europe sources.
Colombia: Dining roomkitchen table:
In Envigado check out La Casa del Secreto at Calle 38A Sur #36-5. I know they have a variety of tables and chairs. I saw one gorgeous dining room table but it was out of my price range. There are a couple other antique stores a block away on Calle 38 but they contain mostly junk.
