I know I really shouldn't do this, but when I see someone that really, really, really needs help I feel obligated to at least try. While I certainly understand that nobody but Debbie Wasserman-Socialist-Schultz can change your thinking on anything, the true facts of the matter are these: (and as you're so fond of telling people that have opinions re: C.R. when you've determined that because they don't live there full time they couldn't possibly know anything relevant about the country- especially the smart ones that don't agree with you - the sames is true of you. Unless you live in the U.S. and especially if you don't own a home here, you don't KNOW ANYTHING. Everything you spew out is purely anecdotal. If you went to college and took even one economics class you would know that numbers lie and can represent anything you'd like them to. Now the scary part for you - actual facts from the Emporers' own Office of Management and Budget (I realize to you and yours the AARP, who've been in Usama's pocket and helped ramrod the Obama doesn't care health plan down the low information voters throat) will tell you these facts: Actual unemployment is really around 9 - 11% if you count the MILLIONS that just quit looking for full-time jobs. Black unemployment alone is over 10%! Existing home sales down around 10% and holding. People on welfare nearing 50%. He's been the most racially dividing president in history, ditto economically dividing. Our military is a joke, we have no more prestige and leverage around the world, and we're in debt up to our ass. His obama - don't -care is a huge economical albatross that got even more expensive this year and next year (2017) will go up at least another 15 - 25% when United HealthCare and other insurance companies don't get their promised subsidies and drop out of the exchanges. REMEMBER, obama declared this mess a tax to get it through the corrupt Supreme Court and because it's a tax guess where the billions needed for this nightmare will come from. This is only scratching the surface but because you don't actually live here and don't experience the weekly grocery price increases and the rest of the economic squeeze he's put us under you really can't know these things can you? And please don't ever refer to some pathetic talking point by, of all people, the AARP trying to sucker some idiot into joining so that they can donate 25% to the DNC. Honestly cr, I thought you were smarter than that.

Thank you, once again, for making our point. about you. Just a thought though - you may want to stay away from the term "self indulgent", at least until you can understand the irony. You'd also help your cause and make it more credible in regard to your feeling absolutely safe down there if you dismantled all of your security apparatus and lived like you're leading people to believe they can. You remember, when it took Gil about four posts to get you to admit to the razor wire, guard dogs, cctv, and your famous, lethal baseball bat. All you're doing with your delusional thoughts and advice is leading people to believe they can be as naive as you and nothing bad can happen. I've been to C.R. more times than I can remember over the last 15 years and can't believe the change. Your info is so pollyana that you make International Living look and sound credible. Prospective new expats, please put very little stock in what ILcr has to say and instead listen to people like eiffel and Gil who give you the good and the bad, and of course, visit several times and check out all areas that interest you. But if you expect a professional, honest and prompt police presence you will be disappointed. Just be careful and use common sense. ILcr doesn't live in a fortress for no reason.

I just have to say to I luv cr, you should maybe go back and read your posts on this subject. You are such a typical left-wing apologist / fact interpreter! Contrary to what usama obama and the N.Y. times would love for you to believe, people sneaking into a country is bad and nothing good will come from it, ESPECIALLY NOW! And just because they happened to catch these goofs, in your mind that means they get everyone? I'm sorry to have to tell that you're wrong but you couldn't be less right. When you have an entire administration and justice dept. that can't fan the flames of racism fast enough, comments on every gang-banger that dies like he was Albert Schweitzer and doesn't even come on camera to comment on all of the white people as well as police officers - black and white - that are senselessly murdered everyday, then you better believe there are are going to be problems. Remember, he said he was going to fundamentally change America and he has. He's also fundamentally destroying it. He swore to defend America and it's citizens but all he's doing is presiding over his planned chaos. Never in my 63 years have I seen such animosity fostered by an American president. Even my black friends can't believe it and we all lived through the riots of the 60's. This has all been meticulously planned my friend. And don't forget that the most frequent visitor to the White House has been our nations most respected peacemaker, the Rev. Al (put that camera on me) Sharpton!

Question: What are the latest per person costs for becoming a pensionado, if that can even be answered. Also, is living on $2600 - $3000.00 per month realistic if you live simply? I'm talking no car, rent $700-$900.00 a month.
