Costa Rica: Are there any radical groups in Costa Rica?:
LOL.Kohl u r so kind n patient..Bless ur heart
Costa Rica: Beware of illegal HOA fees:
yes developments r new residential neighborhoods..barrios nuevos..n those have sidewalks but again CR is a volcanic country w lots of uneven terrain and some drains the tops get, stolen...although most are flat there are speed bumps..some hills sometimes..a stroller with great tires is ok but not for far distance or catching buses..no walkers..like Kohl says always check out things b4 u rent..what is close by? neighbors?noise..everything has a price..nice residential area has more ppl..congestion yet i love everything close by n great for kids..activities..social life..playgrounds..malls..stores, city center..etc..bakeries..it depends what u need or r looking for..rural area for wheelchair is impossible unless you are suicidal..even a stroller is not easy but i would do it but very messy on long road trips..public buses..so it depends on where r u going..private car, etc

Costa Rica: Property / house:
Great advice n hire an older attorney above 55..they tend to be more ethical and less money hungry into scams
Costa Rica: Not respecting opinions of others:
This blog desperately needs a moderator..very tiring. At the end of the day prospective residents from abroad need to visit CR a lot...ask lots of questions here to all orts of ppl..rent first b4 selling back home, read and research laws, regulations, policies, see the news, embassy reports, UN reports and visit different areas b4 they make life altering decision to move here. We or anyone can only hope for the best for them.
Costa Rica: I want the REAL truth:
Yep..sad n dissapointing but truth..ticos say it too..not just expats or foreigners..like u hire a babysitter n all she does is babysit..nothing else God forbid..u hire a nica n she has done dishes..washed terrace, mopped, cleaned bathroom..here in the US i babysat for Passover some Jewish kids from Manhattan and did way more than just babysit..im getting paid so thought it was fair..n how it should be..ticos have attitude problems..they want to work in their schedule..their terms only..if i could find a nica that i could trust n was respectful id hire him n fire my tico maintenance man who is not only rich n doesnt need the money but always has n excuse to not do something..even when he has been paid in advance..no work ethic at all
