Kuwait: Medical care question:

I am looking to deploy there for a year as a contractor. One issue is I am a disabled veteran and on narcotics for pain from my injuries. My VA doctors can't send me the meds for a year without seeing me since they have to check me every month. How hard would it be to get a private doctor there to provide them based on my past and just explaining the issues to them?

Panama: Construction??:

The more I look at it, the more I am thinking Panama might be a better place. With the regulations here killing me, we are doing a TON of research. Is construction still big in Panama and is a lot of it concentrated for expats or businesses? The reason is our being a specialty construction company. Anyone in construction there already by chance? I also have an IT background but am avoiding it due to burnout after years doing IT.

Panama: Business climate?:

Long and short, we are looking at places other and just the USA since the business climate for small companies is turning to very hostile anymore here. Right now I have a small business doing spray foam insulation, flat top roofing and also the polyurea coatings. And yes, insulation is good for keeping cold in as well as out like most here in the US look at with it. The roofing is a seamless one that self flashes with a very good resistance to wind uplift in storms with easy maintnance so that is another possible market for us and the coatings are very durable as well as being water and chemical resistant so great for pools and other places like that. The trick is that all are more expensive up front thoug they more than make up the difference in cost over their lifetime. Anyone have an idea if these are products used at all or if businesses are actually encouraged there for expats to own? We are also curious about schools since we would have one young teen and are expecting another before we would be moving.

Ecuador: Looking around to move and restart my business...:

To be blunt, as a service disabled vet and small business owner, the USA is just going in a direction that is no longer acceptable for me. At 42 I am working 80+ hours a week with my wife working and all we hear is we need to do more for others. I have a small spray foam insulation/roofing and polyurea coatings business and would like to restart it somewhere in South/Central America but have no real idea on how tenable the idea is and if I can even open a business as an expat in most countries. I know in some you are allowed to own it but not WORK in it which would be a problem. It is almost impossible to start something like this unless you work it for a while since it isn’t just grab the equipment, spend 30 minutes learning and go. The other trick is if there is even a market for these things in the country so I am looking around. We do plan to take a few weeks to go down anyplace and hopefully meet some expats and find out about things and how they REALLY are instead of just the tourist bits. Also we have at least one teen and one due in October so basics like schools are also being taken in to the equation. So what is the small business climate like, schools, are you able to work your business or just own and manage it and has anyone seen anything on these products being used there? That gives me a starting point on which countries to look at and yes, you may see this exact same post in a couple of other areas for countries so I can start the process. :-D
