Oh They're everywhere! Go to Tu Duc District for Isle 4, Dist 1 for isle 3, Cho Lon for automotive, Dist. 3 for paint.............................................. I hope you get my sarcasm. There are no big box, all-in-one anything in VN....yet. You have to shop around in the different districts. However, you may be able to find one shop that sells just home tools.

You may have to come to Saigon for supplies. There is a large hydrophonics garden in Dist 7. I forgot the name but google hydrophonics & saigon.

Vietnam: Thinking of moving to Vietnam:

House or apartment might be a little difficult but not entirely impossible. It all depends on what you are willing to accept and what part of the city you choose. I rent a large, furnished room with a small cooking area in Tan Binh District for a little less that 5 mil VND. The room is brand new in a nice location central to public transportation and major city routes. I have a friend in Tan Phu district who is renting a 2 bedroom for about 8.5 mil vnd. Tan Phu is a little further out and recently his new apartment building's exterior started to crack from top to bottom. Not a good scene .

There is no such thing as a stupid question, only stupid answers. No, this is not a usual thing to ask for from and applicant, never mind an employee. I would stay clear of that company.

what is so confusing about it. $1=22,000vnd, simple! I think you are making too much out of this. I've been here for 3 years and use Dong exclusively mainly because very few places out side of tourist areas accept USD. Those that do are illegal as it is illegal to accept payment in any other currency. Take your USD to a bank, they will exchange it and then deposit it into your account. Do yourself a favor, do as the romans do, to preserve your sanity. They do a lot of things differently here than in the west. The sooner you accept that, the easier your life will be here.
