Poland: We are exploring a move to Poland...:

We came back home last Christmas after spending three years in Poland for my husbands job. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and found the locals incredibly friendly despite us not knowing Polish, we did pick up a few words but could not hold a conversation but we always got by. If you like travel Poland is the place to be as it is so cheap, we explored quite a few different countries and of course much of Poland which is a beautiful country. I was very hesitant about the move but am so glad I decided to give it a try,

Poland: Learning Polish: "No, you can't have my cat":

It gave me a good laugh, I have lived in Poland 3 years and still cannot hold a conversation!

Poland: Moving to Rzeszow:

Send me a private message and perhaps we can meet up!

Poland: Any tips?:

We have been here for over two years now and have really enjoyed our time here, despite taking lessons neither of us can hold a conversation in Polish but have never had any problems getting by, our Dentist and Dr both speak good English, Not sure if there are any areas to avoid living in as all the places we looked at were in quite nice neighbourhoods, the crime rate is quite low and we have never felt threatened when we have been out and about. it is also a great place to explore the rest of Europe from. The weather here is very much like Ontario's except this winter which was extremely mild! Are you by any chance moving here from Montreal?

Poland: Moving to Bydgoscz from UK:

check out the blog Never a Dull Day in Poland as the writer is based in Bydgoszcz

Poland: Behavior of some Polish People:

I am in Rzeszow and have always been treated very well in the shops and restaurants, my Polish is pretty non existent and if the clerk doesn't understand me there is usually someone who can!

Poland: American citizen will move to Poland to live with Polish citizen wife. What do I need?:

I am a Canadian and have been living in Poland for the last seven months and I must admit at first I was a bit put out at people not responding to my greeting or smile but realised that they are not being rude but Polish people are more reserved than we are! Not being able to speak the language I was concerned how we would get on (we are not in the city) but have found the people to be very friendly and if I cannot make myself understood there is always someone who can speak some English. You can get most things in the stores (apart from decent bacon!!) but I have the hardest time trying to buy medications as they are mainly behind the counter so you need to know what you want before you go in, this is difficult as most products go under a different name here!
