Nicaragua: Pet quarantee:

I was told, that you have to have your vet prepare a document stating that the pet(s) are free of illness, are up to date on shots and that you have to declare a "value" of the pet(s). That this document "affidavit", will require being notarized, and then sent to the local Nicaraguan Consulate for a final certification, that the procees not to exceed 10 days. From vet affidavit to the time you fly out with your pet(s). That was explained to me by a Nica lawyer a few months back.

Nicaragua: Jury duty?:

When I move to SJdS, I will still have a US driver's license which is what the jury pulls from where I live. Anyone every tackled that problem? What do you do?

Nicaragua: How much is electricity? per KWH:

I am trying to get my head around the upcoming change to my electric usage. I understand that electricity is very expensive. I think I understand that the company bills one rate for the first batch of electricity, then higher for the next batch and then higher still. So as an example ( I am making up figures as examples): 0-250 KWH = $.10 a kwh 251-500 KWH = $.25 kwh 501-750 KWH = $.75 kwh Am I correct on this assumption? Or better yet, could someone explain how much it is and how the company bills for it? Thanks in advance.

Do you mind my asking how many KWH (on the average) do you use a month? Do you know the stagger rate? as examples, you may need to correct my assumptions. 0-125 KWH = $____ 126-250 KWH = $___ etc...... Thank in advance for your reply, or anyone who takes the time to reply. Thank you! ~AV~

Nicaragua: Internet and cellphone in San Jaun del Sur:

I am trying to ascertain what a monthly fee would be for the following services. WIFI hi speed internet at home US$____________ 1 plain jane cell phone (50 min week and 500 min weekend plan as an example) US$___________ 1 smart phone (similar plan as above) US$______________ I will be living in the San Juan del Sur area. Rough estimates are cool and I would most likely bundle this with one provider. Also do the providers allow the billing to go direct to a credit card? Thanks for any assistance, I hope to be in my new home by 1st quarter 2013. OR if you could give me an example what plan you may have and what it costs you in US...if in cordobas I can translate. Thanks in advance
