Nicaragua: By Car Through Central Ameri to Nica:
I was wondering if anyone ever heard from the woman that was driving to Nicaragua from Canada in Dec. Did she make the drive or did she change her mind or what? Any information?
Nicaragua: getting my bf a tourist visa:
I agree with most of the posts about the Government and politicians, they are useless more times than not.. However I must disagree with security at the airports. I don't think they are strict enough. Leaving CR I was patted down because the scanner buzzed and no doubt it was the under wire in my bra that set it off. Then my carry-on luggage was hand checked. I was happy to help in anyway, no complaints on that one. They are there to keep us safe and I have found foreign security a bit stricter than the US security. I am happy to oblige for safeties sake.
Nicaragua: HGTV/tonight:
Just wanted to mention that on House Hunters International tonight 9:30 CST will be filmed in Granada.
Nicaragua: Nicaragua Forum:
Hi gcrtexas4. I absolutely agree with you. I believe if no one made rude or uncalled for remarks about a persons family then Mother Tiger's don't have to defend their cubs.
As for the mayor situation I do not believe there is any American that would fit the bill on the Nicaraguan needs, culture, laws etc. In fact an American in office might very well put a wedge between the locals and the expats.
Nicaragua: Parasites?:
Hi. I watched a program last night, something to do with the ER and a woman was having seizures, not sure what other symptoms were but the ER Dr. ran a brain scan and found that she had parasites. Apparently she had had them for a while and the body's natural response is to calcify them. He was pretty sure that was the problem because they were Latin American and he said this is a fairly common problem in Latin American countries. Anyone familiar with this? Headaches are another symptom I believe.
Nicaragua: any cool higher elevation expat friendly locations in Nicaragua??:
If my memory serves me correctly Quito has a lot of pollution. Also accumulating to the altitude is a must. No way could i handle that but the research I've done on Ecuador it is absolutely beautiful!
Nicaragua: Earthquake:
Wow, sounds pretty scary to me. I hope all are safe. I didn't see anything on the news but will go to the USGS to get an idea as to how bad it was. Thanks for the info majicjack.
Be safe all!
Nicaragua: Availability of medical supplies:
Hi. I have heard that receiving items shipped to a Latin American country is difficult at best. It doesn't seem to make it to it's destination. Is this true?
Nicaragua: Earth Quakes:
wagsa. Aren't you the dude that's an attorney and every thing else under the sun? If so I must ask, do you ever work or is there no work and you have nothing better to do then monitor the site?
Also all this posting under the wrong topic titles are really confusing, it's difficult to tell who said what or what is in reference to what!
Nicaragua: eye care:
I couldn't remember who had upcoming surgery and am very glad to see that it went well!. I was a bit concerned when you posted about the upcoming surgery. Your very brave.
My husband had the surgery last summer and his cataracts were very difficult to remove because he had waited so long. Thank God he had it done and his vision is also 20/20 but he does have to use cheaters for reading.
