If you got your job through internet posted, please be aware of scammers, There are plenty of internet SCAMMERS out there posting all kind of false job opportunities in Ivory Coast. How did you get your job? Through an International NGO or Indian government? I suspect that you fell into scammers' game. Be careful, you might be trapped by scammers. Hospital General de Grand Bassam is a government hospital, as such, doesn't recruit but receive doctors and employees sent by the Ivorian government. Please do your homework before any final decision. I maybe wrong, but good luck.

To answer your question, I would say despite the post conflict situation, the country is safe, and it is a nice place to live and work.
