Ecuador: Phone Service - keeping your existing number:
I'm moving to Curnca shortly and would like some advice on phone service. I will be cancelling my account with AT&T before leaving the States, but would like to keep my "existing mobile number" - perhaps by using Google Voice, MagicJack or something similar. Does anyone have any advice on this?
Thanks, Bud
Ecuador: Proof of pension:
I believe Social Security will send a letter before your 65th birthday regarding Medicare and premiums will begin to be deducted from your benefits check one month prior to your 65th birthday - unless your election is not to take Medicare.
Ecuador: Fares - flying to Cuenca:
I notice large fluctuations in fares to Cuenca from Miami. Any info on what a reasonable roundtrip ticket should cost for one adult male. I'm free to travel from end of March on - anytime. I would like to not overpay if possible.
Thanks, Bud.
Ecuador: Getting to Ecuador - flights:
I notice large differences in cost of flights to Cuenca. Does anyone have any info on what a "reasonable" fare should cost for a roundtrip ticket for one adult male? I'm free to travel from end of March on - anytime.

Ecuador: Cedula - divorce decree and will:
Hello Everyone!
Just heard today from someone I met who is in the process of getting their documents together for an Ecuadorean visa, that a "will" is required for the issuance of a cedula and that a copy of a divorce decree is required for those of us that this applies to.
Does anyone have any information about these requirements? Do these documents have to be translated as well as apostilled?
Thanks, Bud
Ecuador: Change in visa reqirements?:
Has anybody heard rumors of changes to Ecuador's visa requirements? Specifically, that the retirement visa is increasing from $350 to $5,000?
Ecuador: Return Ticket?:
I'm planning on obtaining a retirement visa in Ecuador when I arrive, and have no plan to return to the US in the immediate future. Do I still need to have a "return ticket" when I arrive?
Ecuador: Social Security letter question answered.:
I agree. Tomorrow I plan to call the Ecuadorian Consulate in Miami.
Ecuador: Taking dogs to Ecuador:
Hi, Lorraine:
Just read your "horror" story. Although we are now in 2012, I'm sure things are essentially the same. I'm planning on bringing my Cocker Spaniel to Ecuador, so any names of Customs agents would be most appreciated.
