Netherlands: American hairstylist wanting to move to Netherlands, please help!:

I am a 23 year old female US citizen. My boyfriend is a citizen of the Netherlands and we want to start our life together. He is a student and cannot financially sponsor me, so I've heard the only way for me to live there is by working. I have found such vague and downright negative information on the internet without walking away with any answers... I know the paperwork and things I need, but what I don't know is, is it even possible as a hairstylist? I went to a Paul Mitchell school in the honors program and have my American license. If I find someone willing to hire me, is it possible? Also, I speak fluent German and am intensively learning Dutch (it's coming easy to me because it's very close to German.) Please help! My boyfriend and I are losing sleep and going crazy trying to figure this out... what are our chances and possibilities? Thank you!
