Vietnam: Sunviet:
Has anyone here used Sunviet travel company to get there vise renewed or extended? Are they good?
Vietnam: Visa extension:
What government office do I go to to get my Visa renewed here in HCMC. My visa expires on Friday.
Vietnam: Getting married in Vietnam?:
You can get temp residency card for 2 years. Or I think 5 year visa exemption. I am going to apply for residency card this month.
Vietnam: Drinking water / expat communities / cars:
I personally would not drink the water. My wife is Vietnamese and she will not drink it. FORGET the car! Way to expensive. Motorbike is normal mode of transport here. There are a few expat areas but maybe someone who has lived here longer can answer better.
Vietnam: Need some advice.... soon.:
A little history here. I cam to Vietnam in February for 3 weeks to check it out before I moved here. I had just started my TEFL course at the time. While I was here I was offered 2 jobs teaching English but had to decline as I was not able to stay at that time. This made me feel getting a job would not be to difficult. I have been here now for over a month and have only received 1 interview. Most applications I send respond with no experience...... I have no experience teaching and I also have no degree. Getting a work permit is not hard for me, lets just say my brother in-law has connections. Can anyone give me some advice on where to look at this point I would take about anything, I need to start making money. Is there anything I can do besides teach English? I do not know the language here. My only real experience is 25 years for Toyota as a tech and building very high end gaming computers back home.
Thanks
Robert
Vietnam: teaching jobs:
I have completed my school and have my teaching certificates. I am looking for a job teaching English. I have noticed that only the major schools post on the job boards. I do not have a degree but i also know it is possible to get a job and work permit without one. Is there an English language news paper or some other place that is good to find jobs, or do i just take my resume to the schools? I am living here now and need to start working.

Vietnam: Internet Options??:
I have been using my wife's 3g internet from Viettel. It was good when it got signal. Signal dropped a lot but I had no problems when it had signal. Yesterday I had ADSL hooked up from a company called I think FPT. It is much faster, however it blocks my Yahoo home page. I can go to other web address just fine. I must go to a generic yahoo page and even then none of the links work. I put the 3g back in and I can go to my Yahoo home page. Does this company just randomly block sites or what do you think the problem is???

Vietnam: Forth of July:
Since I just moved here about 2 weeks ago I am still getting to know HCMC. I love it here! I will start my job search on Monday for an English teaching job. This Saturday I will be going to Binh Duong to get married. I was wondering if the expat community had any 4th of July activities or is that fround upon here? Anyway, hope to meet some expats soon. It would be nice to hear a little English at times.

Vietnam: Visa:
I will be moving to Vietnam June 19 this year. I will be teaching English for work. when I arrive I will have a 3 month multi entry visa. I understand that the school can help me get a 1 year visa. Here is my question. I am getting married shortly after I arrive there. Yes i have been to HCMC before and loved it. What are my options for a visa at that point? Is there another visa I can get due to marriage? What about PRC? I am not sure how the Visa Dance works that I have read about. I am planning to stay in Vietnam with no plans to return to the US. I would appreciate any help you can give in this matter.
