Panama: Panama modifies tourist visa:

Article makes sense. E.G Colombian with valid US /UK/ Canada/Australia visa who has visited that country can apply for the year permit. Cubans and African refugees arriving in Panama mostly don't have a visa to the named countries so are limited to the shorter tourist visa here. Rik

Panama: Operation Just Cause Anniversary:

Panama: Balboa Elks on La Boca Rd.:

Nice to know i'm not a "Real Expat" Only lived here for 12+ years and never visited elks or any other canal brat hangout because I prefer the company of Panamanians to zonians. Real expats my arse.......... dumbarses living in the past revelling in their glory days of putting down the locals more like.

Panama: Date line Panama:

Bullsh*t............. those 8 buck hams are only pork shoulder picnic hams anyway......... imported from the states and probably expired dates........ they run about $25 in Machetazo but these politically inspired lazy fat cows think it's better to stand or sit in a queue for 8 hrs than work for 3 - 4 . Let em have their 5 minutes of fame on the TV Here in Penonome the IMA fair was the opposite...... civilised queues and not a long wait so I'm told by family that went.......... me..... I have half a pig butchered and frozen from a couple of months ago.......... prior planning avoid piss poor pana performance.

Panama: Children's folkloric dance troupe:

And a very enjoyable evening......... seeing those kids doing their performances and then their smiles at the applause, as well as the presents and food provided by Shiela. A wonderful gesture by her in memory of Dennis and so appreciated by these poor kids. Hopefully next year will see a few more expats supporting her benevolent work in the community but I'm sure that those who did attend felt it was a worthwhile visit.

Panama: Amazon fire stick:

Should do....... I run kodi on several different boxes, android, raspberry pi3 and win 10.

Panama: Where to Stay in Volcan?:

I agree with LosQuetzales as an interesting location for a quiet vacation. It is at the end of the road above Volcan and Bambito so not an ideal spot for travelling around the area but the owner is a mine of information about the area and extremely friendly. His family have lived in the area for generations and are very supportive of the environment. Several choices within their setup...... hotel rooms, lodges and even an eco-lodge way up in the hills with no vehicle access except their quad via private road........ no electric or cell service either so a real getaway. I always try to visit them when in the area.

Panama: New Union Fenosa Electric Meters:

No worries....... should only take a couple of years to educate the meter readers in the need to put the decimal point in the right place........... things take time here and it will all come right eventually.. meanwhile we jump thru hoops fixing their f***ups.

Panama: lodging:

Friend of mine has had to go back to the states and has a 1 bed 8th floor ocean view apartment in Playa Blanca. He wants to sell eventually but is open renting. Fully furnished. If it is of interest I can hook you up. PM me for a tel# and I can arrange viewing. Rik.

Panama: Speaking Spanish:

I arrived here 12 years ago knowing 'por favor' 'gracias' y 'cervesa' lol Somehow managed to survive and picked up more important parts of the lingo as I went along..... things like 'cervesa bien fria' and numbers. I live out in the sticks now with a Panamena wife and her english is probably better then my spanish but I get by in most of my dealings with the locals. A smile and trying to make sense to them goes a long way . Rik
