Paraguay: checks from USA:

Hi everyone! thanks for your replies to my post! Now, I have another question. If I have residency in Asuncion, can I get a checking/savings account? then can I deposit my pension check and other checks monthly into that account? I know that I have to dep. 5k in a bank to obtain residency papers so I assume I can maintain that account for my other transactions when I move permantly to Py? pls advise. accounting and bank matters are not my forte by any means! thanks! Paraguay: Hi!:

Has anyone had experience with getting a residency card for Paraguay? There is a co. in Ca. called Paraguay at your Service. I have only read their webpage but it sounds like they can faciliate this sort of matter. I wonder if anyone has dealt with them and what was your experience? I live in USA now but am considering a move to Asuncion in 2013. I speak basic to intermediate Spanish. thanks! JH in USA
