Cambodia: buying 1-3 acres land and living in cambodia:
Tad difficult to buy land outright in Cambodia.....there are of course leasing possibilities but I doubt that a few acres would fall into any of the "easily done" areas.
Cambodia: is apathy a tropical disease?:
Noting by the lack of communications on here, either expats dont like each other, are not interested in the exchange or apathy has just generally set in. It seems to me this site has so much potential ....... why isnt it be used? what am I missing?
Cambodia: Latex.....:
Hi everyone, have been here now for a while and although I thought of myself as reasonably resourceful.....have not managed to find liquid latex (the stuff you make baby teats and more intersting things from)....has anyone any idea where to get some from. Cambodia used to have a rubber industry, so how hard can it be?? (stupid question, I know..lol) I actually need it for making small animal teats, and should anyone be interested in Flying Foxes..(by all means email and say hello, would love to hear from you in that case) yup, for them. I have heard and am fully aware of all the negatives of bats, but if anyone cant resist the urge to share them again, feel free :-)..bagladyfromoz@hotmail.com
Cambodia: Moving my family for a mini-retirement:
Wow, what difficult questions .....sort of like asking "should I have apples, bananas or steak for dinner. I"d suggest if you have not been before, Cambodia shouldnt be on top of your "I'll retiere there for 6 months" list, certainly not if it isnt only you, but apparently the rest of your familly to consider. Wishing you the best of luck....
Cambodia: Here I come!:
Ty, sounds smashing and i'm looking forward to a few days of maybe R&R there.....but at the moment, i'm on a mission, and its gotta be PP. Look forward though to catching up one day.....Cheers from freezing Brisbane...:-)
Malaysia: retiree financial requirements:
Hiii...
I just had a quick look at the MM2H page u quoted, and it seems you may just have made a conversion error....:-) Easy to do! Remember the figures quoted are in Malaysian Ringits (RM).
Best of luck.
Cambodia: Getting a Cambodia visa from Bangkok ?:
Hi Les
Cool, I often pop into Cambodia, and also have only had good experiences with the E-visa....I generally get a $25business visa, although so far I have actually never needed it THIS time (June 19th) I"ll once again get my $25 visa but with the full intention of converting it into a yearly one. NOW the question.Any good tips on doing this (I know just about every travel agency etc offers it)...but where do I get one without paying too much extra? Police station?? I'll be in PP ! Any further advice would be appreciated :-) ......and should u know of a reasonable priced flat with verandah near FCC ...comments on that would come in handy too . Thinking of staying 2-3 months, but who knows, if price is right may keep it for a year for convenience. 2br...non flooding and although the excercise wouldnt hurt, at 68 I do appreciate a lower floor....any thoughts?? Many thanks Eva
Malaysia: Salary in malaysia:
Hi...once again I'd say it would depend on information you have omitted.
I have made a test run in KL....just out of interest, but then, i'm on my own and you may have a family. I'm from Australia.
Middle room in Bukit bintang (one of the more expensive areas) I have a medium sized bedroom with bathroom for 1500 (if I wanted to be by transport 10min out of Bukit bintang I could get the same room for 850 RM per month. Kitchen and living room are shared. My daily expenses (not splurging but not living too simply either) are about 80RM...and if I needed to I could most likely cut that down. Clothing is not included nor is an expensive night out. However I do need a daily cappuccino and dont hesitate to have one beer if I want to. There are lots of ways this can still be improved on. Good luck
Malaysia: Moving from USA to Living in Malaysia:
Hi Theresa
Relax, u dont need to do everything in one day. :-)
Arrive.....and get yourself a hotel for about $20-30 a night ...no need to book, you will find one anywhere on the way, worst case scenario you'll be paying $40...all u need is a bed and a shower. Then grab your trusty laptop and see what u can find under rentals...rent for a month to see if you like the area. ..... Depending why you are moving here, walk into any of the larger banks and they will be more then helpful. Become familiar with the term "middle room"...generally most apartments have a bathroom in each bedrrom (similar to a hotel room" (shared kitchen and living room) and they are quite reasonable plus you make friends easily. Have a look about and move if u dont like the area. Easy..:-) cheers Eva
