Jamaica: Moving to the North Coast 2014:
If you register as a returning national you dont have to pay import fees on car, solar panels, well pump, electronic, appliances, computer, furniture, etc. You can also chech the jamaica gleaner online etc, contact a lawyer or realtor.
Jamaica: IMMIGRATING:
Do it in UK at the JA embassy.
He can stay there and own a business in JA but he will not be able to get a job/work permit. Unless he is a doctor/rocket scientist.
Jamaica: Building a House:
Spend you money on land, a food forest, solar heating/electric city, well and a biological water/sewer system. the last thing you should worry about is house.
All you need is one big room 3 bedroom an a bathroom.
Belize: Want to move to Belize:
You are also going to need to drill a well and a sewer system. Install a PV solar system for hot water and electric. or if you are lucky get a microhydroelectric system if you have a spring.
Jamaica: Building Nature Preserve:
I am building a nature preserve. With about 6,000 tropical plants from all over the world. Looking for cheap land and or help with this.
Jamaica: citizenship through descent:
Like others have said it takes at most 12 months and you only have 14 months before you leave. SO start the process no and you will be fine.
Jamaica: street selling in maypen:
House to house an sundays might be a better option. sell for no profit to build a customer base, then start charging more afterwards. Sell more than just sandals.
Jamaica: Moving to MoBay ...in 2013:
get married sooner rather than later. If he cant commit then why bother. Dont waste your money making trip. Just move and use it as a cushion until you settle. Its hard finding a job in usa so 50 times harder in the islands. You best bet is to lower your bills stay at his parents house, if possible but know that it is going to be hell living with in-laws treating you like kids or worse they actually dont like you. grow your own vegetables. Go almost vegan. no meat. Hopefully you can find a job. Maybe start going house to house selling stuff on sundays for no profit to build a customer base. then go job hunting the rest of the week
Jamaica: Rehab/Homeless shelter:
This is awesome. I am trying to build a nature reserve on one or two acres. So we would be able to provide the clients with food grown on property. It would give them something to do. A work history and skill/experience to replicate it on their own. Here is a few of the trees I would like to grow. tradewindsfruitstore.com/servlet/the-Tropical-Fruit/Categories
Jamaica: Moving To Jamaica Need advice from Locals Please & Thank U!:
The schools in Jamaica are better than the ones in AZ education wise but its a different culture but kids adopt quickly. So go with any school kid will probably be behind education wise. And sign the kid up for any after school program that way you will have more free time and it will help grades. As for food. find some government land and farm on it or ask someone here. I know they have some form of food stamp but you will most likely not qualify or have to wait years. For some food and possible housing. http://www.agrm.org/assnfe/CompanyDirectory.asp?MODE=VIEW&SEARCH_TYPE=13&ID=157321
now as for rent its the same price as AZ and its impossible to get a job. Start you own biz selling stuff or better yet. Buy some land. buy some PV Solar cell and build a shack/buy a shiping container and have someone cut out door and window. that way you will have land for shelter and food and solar cell for electric and school is pretty much taken care of. As always you can contact me for more info.
