Panama: New requirement when leaving Panama:

Heres what the article says: Nothing to declare Travelers leaving Panama will have to declare to the Customs authorities merchandise, securities or money for more that $10,000 from March 27 a measure that was previously only met by the people entering the country. The so-called Departure Traveler Affidavit is part of the regulations demanded of Panama by the International Financial Action Task Force (Gafi) to fight against the laundering and financing of terrorism, according to the National Customs Authority.

Panama: Bookstores somewhere?:

I don't know if this will help, but there is a "library" inside Picasso's in Coronado and also a regular library at the town square in Bejuco.

Panama: old fountain pens:

Ok, I'll tackle this. There are not a lot of "flea markets" happening down here. When there are markets, they are mostly arts and crafts type markets, and not people selling their "old" stuff. Most expats here, got rid of the old stuff before coming down here. Are you talking about the really old style "needs a bottle of ink" type fountain pen?

Panama: Emergency in Coronado re meds:

You can buy the generic of this in most pharmacies in Panama. It is Duloxetine. Just write it on a piece of paper and bring it to the pharmacy. No Rx necessary here. The generic is also cheaper in the US.

Panama: Amazon fire stick:

We use Kodi on our Amazon Fire tv box and it works great!!!! We also have friends using Kodi on the Amazon Fire stick and its works just as well. We are in the Coronado/beaches area of Panama

Panama: PREPAID data-plans ????:

We use Mas Movil on Apple 5s phones. We don't have any kind of plan and just do a "pay as we go" kinda thing. Meaning, when the amount on our phone starts to get low, we add another 15 or 20 bucks. Our SIM cards allow for talk, text and data. I know if I run out of money on my phone, when I put money back on it, I WONT have data unless I purchase a 1 day or 2 day data package. When I do that, I once again have data for as long as I have money on the phone. I get very few phone calls so most of the money I put on the phone is used by accessing data....hope this helps a bit...

Panama: Stand Up Paddle Boarding:

We have a guy here in Coronado that might be able to answer your questions. His name is Bryon and he rents and teaches SUP. Find him on Facebook at R & B SUP or you can give him a call at 6928-4540. He's a good guy.

Panama: Paddle Panama in Panama City:

I know a couple of people here at the beach have bought paddle boards at PriceSmart. And the inflatable ones sometimes come in their own backpacks. See if you can get someone who's going to the U.S. to bring one back for you. :-)

Panama: Transportation from PC:

Get ahold of Linda Crisol. Panama cell # 6979-5507 email lindacrisol5@gmail.com She lives in Gorgona, right next to Coronado. Knows the area from the airport to the beaches well, has a roomy, comfortable car and might be flexible on the price this time of year. She's good people.

Panama: Bus to Limon Costa Rica:

You will probably have to go to SanJose and transfer to a bus going to Limon...We took buses from Panama to Costa Rica to Nicaragua and back. It's a good way to travel down here, especially across the borders...
