Nepal: if you purchase my registered company....:

you can buy land and/or perhaps acquire certain kinds of properties in Nepal, and get a visa in the deal, provided you meet certain guidelines and are ready to invest a minimum of 7,5 million rupees which is about 70,000 euros or thereabouts at current exchange rates.Best if Investment is in land, or leisure field (guest house, hotel, resort, etc.) otherwise, there are many other field or activities in Nepal which the Government will not allow (like trekking, handicrafts,etc...there is a long list) which are closed to foreigners. We'd have to know more about your objectives and budgeted investment.

Nepal: Expats can own property in Nepa..if the own a Nepalese Company in their name!l:

You are correct and as an expat living in Nepal, with majority control in a duly registered Nepali company engaged in the leisure field, I am due to age ready and willing to sell or transfer my shareholding in this Pvt Ltd company to another foreign party subject to contract and on terms and conditions to be determined. Offering price of my shares which comprise Paid-in capital as per balance sheet: 7,500,000 nrs. which is about 70.000 euros currently. Serious foreigners interested to take over my controlling interest will in turn enable them to buy land or resort, or hotel, guesthouse, etc. in the country, or build one if they prefer.

Nepal: Getting Visa and buying property:

Take my advice, please, and never lease. I speak from experience after 14 years in Nepal. In fact, I have had such a bad experience leasing in Nepal, it is the very reason why I closed my business here. On the other hand, in view of my advanced age and new visa requirement according to which I AM COMMITTED TO BE A NON WORKING PERSON here in Nepal for the rest of my life, I am quite open and willing to talk to you, if you so desire, about the possibility of selling the shares OF THE HOLDING OR MANAGEMENT COMPANY which I still have as a foreigner and can sell, quite legally, to another foreigner, who could be you, if you are interested. All I can tell you is that it would be a lot easier to acquire my controlling interest in an EXISTING COMPANY rather than create your own, and you will also save a lot of hassles and costs, legal and otherwise, too. After that you can buy land anywhere in Nepal, and/or create a resort, build a hotel, buy out an existing guesthouse, or a home for yourself in Pokhara if you wish. because I am not looking to make a profit, the price of my shares are at PAR VALUE which is the same as in 2001 when I created the company. Paid in capital is 7,5 million nrs or the equivalent in US$ or about 70.000 euros currently (12/12) Think about it and let me know.
