Ecuador: gay community in Cuenca area:

Hi Thomas, My Partner and I have lived in Cuenca for close to a year and love it We have a very close knit expat gay community as well as straight community. We do advertise on Air A& B two of our rooms in our house as a bed and breakfast. Cuenca is a beautiful and safe city as well as conservative. We do receive Civil Union rights. Let us know if you need any assistance! David and Juan.

Ecuador: utterly disgusted:

We're you so vitriolic when the fake Iraq war was shoved down the people throats all to benefit the MIC. ACA is trying to alleviate millions of Americans w/o insurance........What have Gop come with? it's the LAW deal with it instead of playing extortion/blackmail games by the the ReTHUGlicans!

Ecuador Welcome Forum: Medical Stuff:

Can't wait for an Obama hater to come to Socialist Ecuador! Like health was so good under GOP administrations!

Ecuador Welcome Forum: What would you bring....?:

Earplugs!! You can not find them here! Dogs barking, car alarms, roosters....you'll thank me later!

Ecuador: Room in Cuenca- 1 month:

Hey John, you can send us an email at juanftl@aol.com. David and Juan.

Ecuador: buying appliances in Cuenca:

I have a 3 month old 6 burner Haceb range and oven. Oven has never been used. It's Metal (stainless steel), 30" wide. Like new. $400. Bought all my appliances at Marci Max.

Ecuador: Getting RX from the US.:

I have some non- narcotic prescriptions I need sent from the US. Has anyone had problems sending by DHL?

Ecuador: Hotels:

Yes. We loved it! Staff and Alberto are top notch! It's clean and in a great location!

Ecuador: tips:

It's my understanding, Ecuadorians do not tip. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong. There seems to be a lot of concern with gringo pricing and gringo targeting. If the culture does not tip, why are we Americans assuming our way is better? And separating ourselves from the locals?

Ecuador: Pensioner and Same-Sex Marriage:

My partner David 50 and I 53 moved to Cuenca in May and are using David's SSI and myself as his dependant due to our domestic partnership from Broward Country (Ft Lauderdale) Fl. If you live in a county that gives you domestic partnership and it NEEDS to be Apostilled and notarized in your state capital. We both love living here including the people, climate and food. It helps that I speak Spanish but David is determined to learn it. Good luck! Juan
