Dominica: Electronic Community:
Craigslist is not as popular here in Dominica as it is in the US, UK and other countries. Our real estate company, Millenia Realty regular posts our available properties on Craigslist. I believe we are one of the few who takes advantage of its usefulness as I rarely see post from Dominica that weren't by us.
Most of the only servicing in the country is done via online news websites (such as Dominica News online and Dominica Vibes) as well as via Social Media (mainly Facebook).
Majority of the inquiries we get through Craigslist comes from individuals living in the US, UK, and Canada, with a few from other Caribbean Islands.
Dominica: Dominica!! ... but where exactly ?:
Good day Arthur,
Local public transport allows large bags but may require the passenger to pay for the seats taken to make up for the passengers they would have lost.

Dominica: Details on Travel There?:
International flights from US and Europe are connected to the island through hubs in Antigua (ANU), Barbados (BGI), St. Maarten (SXM), Puerto Rico (SJU), Guadeloupe (PTP), and Martinique (FDF). Leeward Island Air Transport (LIAT) offers direct connections from Antigua, Barbados, St. Maarten, Guadeloupe and Puerto Rico, as well as other connecting flights across their 22 island network. BVI Airways provides service from St. Maarten and Tortola (EIS).
Windward Islands Airways (WINAIR) began scheduled service operations between Guadeloupe (PTP) and Melville Hall Airport and onwards to St. Maarten (SXM) on February 15, 2014. The service operates 4 times weekly – Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays depending on the season.
Seaborne Airlines service replaced the American Eagle service from Puerto Rico. The airline has a code share agreement with American Airlines allowing travellers to book their flights to Dominica directly through American Airlines. Additionally, on April 4, 2013, LIAT began a non-stop service between Dominica and Puerto Rico.

Feel free if you have any more questions!
Dominica: Dominica vs Belize:
Dominica has good health care. For cases that overwhelm us, the French territories of Martinique and Guadeloupe next door provide assistance.

Dominica: Moving:
There is no shortage of plumbers here. I suggest you apply to local firms if you would like to work for someone and see what feedback you get. You can always go the route of opening your own plumbing firm and providing a few jobs. Visit and feel out the market; find out how the competition is operating and how you can compete with them i.e. provide a better and more affordable service. Invest Dominica Authority is an excellent place to start for information regarding opening a business and working here.
I hope the above is helpful.
Dominica: Buy a piece of of land in Dominica:
There are no specific conditions to be met however the government fees are higher by 10% for non-nationals. The total of government fees and lawyer's fees for transfer of title would be approx. 21% for non-nationals. If the size of the land is an acre or more for residential use, and if the land is more than 3 acres for commercial use, an application has to be made for an Alien Landholding license which involves a check of your background and the approval of parliament.
Do you know what you want in the property that you are looking for? Do you have a budget in mind?
I would love to help with your search.
Feel free to ask if you need any additional information.
