Guatemala: need office space/internet connection:
I just moved here this week and the house I'm in so far has an internet issue. I must have enough bandwidth to make/receive calls thru skype (no video). As I'm desparate to get this, I'm looking into the idea of renting a desk/space in an office in Antigua somewhere until this gets fixed. Any ideas on how I might do this? I literally just need the internet connection and minimal background noise (no bars, cafes). Thanks in advance!
Guatemala: Guatemalan Headhunters/Job Search:
Have you looked into telecommute or remote opportunities? I've searched and seen them on the BD side as well as in the recruiting and insurance industry. I'm in the recruitment industry myself in the US and received the "OK" to work from Guatemala as long as my internet and VOIP work and I'll be arriving tomorrow :) There's a chance you'll have to work 100% commission to start, but I'd say it's a good option to research.
Guatemala: 30 somethings in Antigua:
I've visited Antigua twice now and am considering a move there, as I can work remotely. I am a 36 year-old, single female and am wondering what the expat demographic is there. How hard would it be for me to make friends?
