United Arab Emirates: Hoping to move to AD in September, please advise!!:

Hi there. My wife and I will hopefully land a teaching job in UAE starting in Sept. I really need advice about accommodate allowance and cost of living difference between Dubai and AD. Is $20000 a year enough for a 2 BR in either city or does it need to be more like $24000? Do I definitely need to buy a car? Also, goods n services, traffic, concerts - can someone give me on insight between the 2 cities? Any advice appreciated. Thanks!!!
