Colombia: FAQ:
Hi Soystar1, I'm a single 66 year old living in Cuenca, Ecuador where I have a permanent resident visa. Since its too cold here for my taste, I'm exploring options in Colombia, Santa Marta specifically. I went to the official website for Colombian visas and found it difficult to navigate and could not get answers to my questions: 1. What are the requirements for a tourist visa? 2. What are the requirements for a permanent resident visa based on pension income? If you can answer my questions or know someone who can, I would appreciate it.

Ecuador: Ways to avoid "The RUNS" in Ecuador:
I spent 8 months in Cotacachi in 2012. After my second bout with the runs, I asked advice from locals. Their recommendation: papaya seeds. So, on two subsequent occasions, I bought a papaya and swallowed a tablespoon of the seeds once a day (Don't chew the seeds. They are bitter.). In both cases, within two days, I had complete symptom relief. Cost: About a buck for a papaya. And the fruit is always a yummy treat.
