Our cat has recently been diagnosed with hyperthyroidism and the vet can't find a safe medicine to give her. She is willing to write a prescription if we can get them here from the states. Can medicines be shipped here without customs taking them? Do you know of a medication we can get here?

No. You can get a relatively inexpensive bus ticket out or buy a return airline ticket within twenty-four hours of entering and then cancel as soon as you get through immigration/arrive at your lodging. Some airlines demand proof of leaving Costa Rica before you can exit the States.

My husband and I just received our cedulas as pensionados which are good for two years. When we are due for renewal will we need to show receipts to prove that we have converted one thousand dollars into colones every month?
