Hi,Iam also in your age bracket and my wife and I plan on retiring to CR also.I will be on 40,000 yrly and have been told that we should be in pretty good shape as long as we don't starting to live like your back in the states. I have studied the local towns around San Jose and our biggest concern was Hospitals and Airports. We seem to be gravitating to Atenas or Grecia. We plan on coming down there and stay at a B&B FOR A MONTH TO LOOK THE TWO AREAS OUT AND THEN DECIDE. Cars are a little costly I hear so are going to wait awhile before buying. Jerry
