United Kingdom: Moving to London with pets:
Hello Katie,
As "annadchilonddc" mentioned writing a pet CV is a good idea. Also agree to have the property professionally cleaned when you move out. If you haven't done so already, check the Pet Travel Scheme so that your cats can arrive to the UK without problem.
If by city centre/financial district you mean City of London, you will need to stick with zones 1 and 2 for a 20-30 minute commute. If you mean the Canary Wharf area, where many bank headquarters are, you might find something with zone 3 in the south east of London. "Good area" is very subjective to taste and lifestyle, so I cannot comment on that.
Good luck with your move!
United Kingdom: Urgent advice needed on UK childcare service for foreigners:
Hello Nargis,
All 3 to 4 year olds in England are entitled to free nursery education for 15 hours a week for 38 weeks of the year. If you have younger children or need more childcare hours, you need to pay for it. The full-time education at school starts at the age of 5.

United Kingdom: Moving to the UK:
Hello Gal,
The average gross salary in London is about £40K per year. Your estimated earnings should be enough for you and your family. Of course, "living well" means different things to different people. Housing is expensive and varies between neighbourhoods, so choose the area to live carefully.
Good luck with your plans!

United Kingdom: Family friendly leafy area short commute to canary wharf?:
Hello Ms77,
Consider Greenwich across the river. It is a nice borough with nice parks and a lively high street with shops and restaurants. The median monthly rent for a two bedroom property is £1,200 and £1,400 for a three bedroom. For a top end property expect to pay over £3,000.
Good luck!

United Kingdom: Neigborhood to live in between Westminster and Egham?:
Hello,
You will have good train links from Egham to Twickenham, Richmond, Barnes, Chiswick and Clapham Junction. Your husband can equally reach these areas from Westminster. The first four are tranquil family neighbourhoods with plenty of shops and restaurants. Clapham Junction is more vibrant and rougher but popular with young professionals who wish to live in Central London. For one bedroom flat expect to pay around £1,600 per month.
Kind regards,
Family to London
United Kingdom: School for High Functioning Autistic child in London:
Hi!
Did you try National Autistic Society's services directory at http://www.autism.org.uk/directory.aspx? I came up with more than 300 schools in London area.
I also found their article "Choosing a School in England and Wales" quite informative. Its thread is Home >Living with autism >Education and transition >Primary and secondary school >Choosing a school.
You might also like to check UK government's site on special education (https://www.gov.uk/children-with-special-educational-needs/special-educational-needs-support).
Good luck with the school and the move!
United Kingdom: what happens if schools oversubscribed?:
If all the schools that you apply to are oversubscribed, your daughters will still be given a school placement. The school(s) just might be further away.
United Kingdom: Moving to London as family of 4:
Hi,
All the areas recommended to you are nice neighbourhoods with good schools, green areas and transport links to the City.
Estate agents don't organise school visits but can tell you a lot about the neighbourhoods. Relocation agents can help you with different aspects of your move (schools, housing, utilities etc) but will charge for their services.
If you want free information on relocating to London with a family go to familytolondon.co.uk.
Good luck with the move!
United Kingdom: relocation services worth the price?:
It all depends on how much money you have to spend and how much self-initiative you have. If you don't have any understanding of UK tenancy agreements, a relocation agent can make your move less stressful. They will take you to see rental property, carry out the inventory and set up the utility providers for you (which is actually really easy to do). However, they cannot secure you a rental apartment.
On the other hand, if you want to save money, check these government website for guidance:
https://www.gov.uk/private-renting-tenancy-agreements
https://www.gov.uk/private-renting
https://www.gov.uk/tenancy-deposit-protection/overview
I hope this helps, and that your move will go smoothly!
