Panama: Health Insurance:

We have VUMI-good all over the world and in the USA. WE are 68 and pay around $1900 per year for the two of us. We are healthy. If you join the Canadian Club (I think that is what it is called one time) you get another small discount. Check out their plans. Also, in Panama you can get hospital insurance. We used American Express before VUMI for out of the country vacation insurance. Good luck!

Panama: Hope to meet Bouquete ExPats:

Hi, go onto the Website www.boquete.ning.com. They have a newcomers dinner every Friday night. The site also has the weekly schedule for other activities. On Tuesday mornings, the BCP has a market where many ex-pats shop. Once you get to Boquete, it is town over the bridge. Boquete ex pats are a friendly group. You will meet many nice poeple here in Boquete.

Panama: Closest nice beach to Tocumen Aiport?:

You could take the catamaran to the Pearl Islands. Nice ride, air conditioned and better than driving around.

Panama: today's visa experience (positive) and question:

The tourist visa is good for only 90 days, if you are going to drive in Panama. Otherwise, it is good for 180 days.

Try Boca Chica.

Panama: Bocas hotel:

Hi, Stay out of Bocas town unless you like loud music until the early morning hours. Red Frog Beach and Starfish Beach are the best.

Panama: Exploring Options in Panama:

Try Boquete. You can get ocean views even from here.

Panama: Living in mountains:

We live in Boquete. More spiders are near the coffee farms. More bugs in homes that are not sealed properly. The nearest beach to Boquete is Las Olas outside of David. Nice beach, not much to do---Come to the BCP Tuesday market in Bouqete. Also, join Boquete.ning to find out what is going on.

We live in Boquete. We love it here. The best practice is to come, check out numerous places and then make your own decision. One person's happiness is another person's misery.

Panama: Rental in Boquete:

Look on www.bouqete.ning.com and craigslist for rentals. There are also hotels that offer discounts for longer stays. Meet people at the BCP market every Tuesday starting at 9:00 AM, Amigos, or Big Daddy's. Also, on ning, they have a newcomer's dinner every week. We love Boquete! eternal Spring with some rain!
