Jamaica: How did you adjust to the culture? Suggestions & Advice:
The trouble western people have is thinking Jamaica will be like back home, forget that straight away ,there is no other place like Jamaica or its people ,if you wish to be here you should get to know the culture ,their ways , their behaviour their thinking , they are very up front people to your face and will come across as rude but its not so. the people are not easy to deal with but you should except them as they are .You cant just come to live in Jamaica there is a process you have to go through first ,it took me 4 years to get my stay .I live a very Jamaican way of life here , in the hills with local people , no security gated community for me ,what's the point in that .Ive had nothing but courtesy and respect from all i meet be it shops banks restaurants neighbours ,its how you carry yourself also that can make a difference to how you are treated. I move around freely and have no fear .
