Ivory Coast: Rental Fraud Abidjan:

To all expats be careful from local landlords in Abidjan, they offer fake rental contract charge you 1000 EUR for flat and after ask more money for bills of water, electricity. Best is to sign official contract with the local municipality rent is 250 Eur for a flat, monthly bills not included.

Rental of flat - prices from 900 EUR up with bills included..if you rent from local person- be careful of Fraud have a rental contract signed and notarized. Rental of flat from municipality price 250 EUR plus electricity & water round 200 EUR per month. Expenses for food per month round 600 Eur per month for 1 person if you shop at the Prima & Cap Sud market, local green markets are not reccommended for expats. Going out after 6pm is not safe, always go out with local driver. Local community does not speak English & tend to overprice the products, best is to buy from supermarkets where all priducts have prices.
