Chile: General Aviation in Chile?:

I am a retired airline pilot. I want to leave the USA but don't want to give up flying entirely. I have a small 4 place plane that is quite capable of flying anywhere in the western hemisphere, with the exception of La Paz. Chile is a member of IAOPA but I haven't received a reply from my questions to them directly. I saw the Club Aereo Iquique web site and thought that might be a location favorable to general aviation. I understand that the USA is the most favorable country for this pursuit but that is changing rapidly and other country considerations may take precedence. I'm not looking for a flying job but since I've flown internationally as well as US domestically for more than 35 years I could help pilot students with their English as it applies to aviation. Any help or leads will be appreciated. Thanks Brent

Uruguay: Retire with Airplane:

I'm retired pilot and not over the addiction. I would be living in Ecuador now but they have no AV fuel availability and are extremely unfriendly to General Aviation. Is UY any better? I've heard rumors but no facts. Large metro areas not required. Any other suggestions? Chile? Argentina? Needs to be accessible from USA in a light plane so probably limited to Latin America.
