Uruguay: Black American Looking For Expat Mentor.:

Good morning. I am an African American man looking to move my family to Ecuador or Uruguay. I am seeking a mentor who has went through the expatriation and residency process. Feel free to inbox me I have a wife and 3 children and we are learning spanish now. One of my children is 8 years old and the other is 15. I want to avoid the pitfalls and make this move as smooth and easy as possible. If you are a person who was born in Ecuador or Uruguay and currently live there, feel free to reply. Below are some of my questions and concerns, and if you could help guide me in any other way, it will be much appreciated. Thanks Questions: Where do I specifically go to get the process started? What are the steps involved? What is the cost to move to Ecuador or Uruguay? What is the time frame to receive citizenship? How difficult is the process of moving from the U.S.? Is racism against blacks an issue in Ecuador or Uruguay? What are the best cities or areas where blacks live? Do they have schools that focus on English speaking children? With regards to culture shock, what should I expect? What should I expect with regards to crime ect.? Any other info would be great. I greatly appreciate your assistance. Thanks.

Peru: Black Man From U.S. Looking To Move To Peru?:

Good morning. Me and my wife are pondering a move to South America. One of the countries that we are considering is Peru; as well as Columbia , Ecuador, Uruguay. Of course by being from the United States and being a black family, we have certain concerns. I will post below a list of questions that maybe you guys can help us with. What is it like to be a black man Peru? Are the schools good? Do you guys know of a good cheap and effective way to learn Spanish besides rosetta stone? Is racism very prevalent against blacks? How easy is it to obtain residency or citizenship and Peru? How much does it cost and how quick do you obtain it? What are the churches like down there? I heard that South America has a lot of Catholicism but we're not Catholic. I just want to go to a regular Christian Church. These are all of the questions that I have right now and if you could bring some other insight with regards to Peru I would be most appreciative thank you.
