Guatemala: A Few Basic, Silly Questions from a Newbie:

Before even considering a move (or visit) to Guatemala, my wife insists that I find out: - How frequently does the electricity "go out," and for how long? - How reliable is phone service? Are cell phones common? - Is home internet service common, reliable, and fast? - Do most homes have reliable hot water and plumbing? Keep in mind that she has been out of the country only once in her life and has no idea what to expect. Yes, yes, yes... we intend to take a trip there to see the country for ourselves. But if I can't get answers to these questions, we won't get as far as the airport. So, no matter how silly these questions may be to you, please throw me a bone. :) Many thanks.
