Global Expat Forum: French air traffic control strikes - help!:
Hey, I was supposed to be flying from Prague to Paris today, and my flight was cancelled because of the strikes. Can anyone tell me what I'm owed in terms of refunds/expenses/compensation?
I've checked online and I can't work it out. The airline says it'll reroute or refund me, but I have no idea how long I might have to wait.
Singapore: Survey of volunteer work and expatriates in Singapore:
Done :)
China: Cheap study & travel in China:
I used to live in Qingdao - it's a nice city. Not sure that the university Chinese classes are that great though. The people I met didn't seem all that fluent.
Global Expat Forum: can a US licensed veterinarian start a practice in Ecuador?:
I think it's very likely. If not, you'll have to go through the diploma conversion chain...
Example: a Chilean dentist can't practice in the UK. He can, however, get his diplomas converted into Spanish diplomas, which can be converted into UK diplomas.
France: Is there a hiring delay for foreigners in France?:
Yep, in my experience the best way to get round all the stupid restrictions is to arrange with the employer to write a job ad specially for you.
Global Expat Forum: Need to get my family to the future:
You'd probably be better off in Eastern Europe. The cost of life is still relatively low (except in the touristy bits like the croatian coast), but you'll have to pay to get your kids into an English language school, and that doesn't come cheap.
Laos: i would like to work in loas as an english teacher:
Come on a tourist visa - you'll get a job right away, and then you can convert it to a working visa afterwards.
