Ecuador: Layover in Quito:
We came through Quito to Cuenca in early February. We spent the night, as many other people did, sleeping in the seats (extremely uncomfortable) or on the floor (very cold). No, it doesn't close from midnight to 6:00 a.m. But the alarm signal went off for about an hour telling directing us to head for the nearest exit, interspersed with another direction to ignore the evacuate direction. Not exactly the most enjoyable night I have spent.

Mr, Mike Hunt, please get yourself educated. Not every gay person is a predator, as you seem to think. This person was only asking to be able to live where he/she is comfortable and not around homophobic ignoramuses like you.
Ecuador Welcome Forum: Tsunami Warning:
Any damage along the Ecuador coast from the tsunami? News here in CA says the tsunami was quite small.
Ecuador: Hunting:
My question: How does one tell the "responsible hunter" from those who are NOT responsible? A friend of mine witnessed some so-called "responsible" hunters, drunk to the gills, carrying out from the woods, a small, dead fawn, still with its spots on. And they were bragging about it.
Ecuador: Import of Firearms:
I was told by my Ecuadorian driver that a person may have a single gun in his home or in his car, but if he carries it out on the street , then he is liable to be arrested. Comments?
Ecuador: washing fruits and veggies:
We recently visited Cuenca for two weeks and our friends who have lived there for two years have had no problem drinking the water. So we began drinking the water from the tap in our hostal and we suffered no ill effects.
Ecuador: Halfway to Heaven - An Ecuador Postcard:
And I agree with remoore and Susan that it is an unfair burden to place on people, regardless of how kind and caring they are, when it is wise for all of us to plan ahead for our demise. And those who are younger and don't think of when they might step into eternity never know if they may be hit by a car or other vehicle in a moment of not being careful, may make that step sooner than they think.
Ecuador Welcome Forum: Single Woman retiring in Equador:
Mildoc, aren't you the one who keeps referring to the USSA?? It seems to me that you condemn the U.S. for heading toward socialism, but you are living in a totally socialist country. Something doesn't add up. Correct me if I don't understand.
Ecuador: Arriving in July What's the best auto to bring:
Once again, mildoc, you may have already answered this, but where do you live????
Ecuador Welcome Forum: who knows?:
