Kenya: Advice on areas to live in Nairobi:

I am wondering if anyone had any opinions on good areas to live in Nairobi. I am looking for a safe neighbourhood but not overly expensive. I like Kilimani but wondering if anyone had any suggestions or opinions on other areas (ie. Parklands, Westlands, Hurlingham, etc). Thank you!

Hi All, I am moving to Nairobi at the begining of April and my boyfriend and I are looking for an apartment to rent. We are looking at 6 months for now but may extend. If anyone knows of a company that would be able to assist me or even better an apartment complex that they would suggest I look at, that would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Jamaica: Canadian Relocating to Jamaica:

Hello Everyone, I am hoping someone will have some advice, recommendation(s), or anything that may help me. I am planning on moving to Jamaica with my boyfriend (I am Canadian and he is Kenyan - living in Kenya). What I am wondering is if I get a job and we both go there (he on a visitor visa - upon arrival - he doesn't need one prior) and me on a work permit, how long can a visitor stay in Jamaica. I know that upon arrival typically (but not guaranteed) a 90 day visa is approved, and to extend this by another 90 days, one must do this prior to the initial expiry. My question is - can a visitor renew past 180 days? Or if they leave Jamaica say for 2 weeks, can they re-enter fresh and receive the 90 day visitor visa and then can apply to extend? Bottom line staying in Jamaica longer than 6 months? Our plan is to relocate to Jamaica for 1 year or more and if one of us is not able to obtain a work permit, what problems will we face if we go there? Or if I do have a work permit, and he cannot obtain a work permit, is there an alternate option that will allow him to stay longer? ie. Alien status? Kenya: Finding a job in Nairobi as a Canadian:

Hello, I am looking for a job in Nairobi. I am a Canadian looking to move for atleast 1 year. I am travel agent and have worked in travel for over 5 years. Before that I have worked in restaurants/bars. I am looking to work for a high end hotel or travel agency or tour operator. Does anyone have experience with a reputable recruitment agency that they have been successful with? Or any advice? I will get a work permit once I am offered a job. I am currently in Canada. Kenya: Moving to Nairobi:

Hello All, I am in the midst of starting my research on moving to Kenya (Nairobi) at the end of the year. I will be coming from Canada and I am planning on living in Kenya for 1 year. I want to be able to work but there are so many different work permits that I am wondering where to start. I have read that it's difficult to receive a job offer from Kenya inoder to apply for a work permit... is this true? I am overwhelmed and I am looking for some advice/tips on work - this is just to start! I sincerely appreciate any advice or recommendations!
