Argentina: Arriving in Salta for exploratory visit:
Greetings Everyone.
My name is Mack, European Canadian, and on an exploratory trip to find a new place to live.
After a long period in Costa Rica, I am presently exploring parts of Chile and will travel by bus early next week to Salta, Argentina. (Expected arrival 2nd of April).
I was hoping to get some feedback from expats living in Salta, or elsewhere in Argentina, to hear some of their experiences. Of course I would also like to meet people, so if there are places in Salta where expats meet I would be most interested to hear about that too.
Any other feedback and comments, positive and negative, are most welcome.
Thanks for your comments folks and looking forward to meeting some of you.

Uruguay: Paysandu and/or Rivera:
Greetings everyone.
My name is Mack and I live presently in Costa Rica, going on 15 years.
I am looking to relocate to Uruquay and would like to communicate with people from Paysandu and/or Rivera, as these two places seem to me the best places to move two, but like some feedback from people who actually live there. But any personal experiences are more than welcome.
Having been in CR for quite some time, I am familiar with the two tier economy system (gringo versus local people) slow pace, bureaucratic frustrations etc. Much what I read on this forum is very similar to CR, except the temperature :-(, which gives me some concern.
I am Canadian with Dutch origin, speak English, Dutch, German and Spanish (reasonably well). I live of a small pension so prices are important to me, specifically rent/heating/ etc. Water supply is also a concern, as in CR we often have no water.
Any feedback and advice is most welcome and I look forward to making new friends in Uruquay.
Mack
