Ecuador Welcome Forum: Contact Lens Availability and Cost:

I'm researching relocating to Cuenca from the U.S. I haven't seen much on the forum about the availability of contact lens and the cost. Can a person get most any brand of contact lens? What kind of cost should I expect?

Ecuador: Cell Phone Recommendations for 1-Week Stay:

I will be visiting Cuenca for 1-week in November. I'm not cell phone savvy from an international perspective so I'm coming to the experts on this forum. I have a cell phone that will work in Ecuador according to my provider (AT&T) so should I (1) add the international plan for a month as AT&T suggests or (2) buy a local phone to use while I'm there or (3) do something else? Thanks in advance for the advice!

Ecuador: Cuenca Hostel Recommendations:

Will be visiting Cuenca for the first time in November. Currently have reserved a room at La Casa Cuenca hostel. Does anyone know this hostel to recommend it or not? Other suggestions? Thanks!

Ecuador: Best Time To Visit Cuenca?:

For those who are in or know Cuenca well, what's the best time to travel there for: 1) Lowest cost flights? 2) Best weather? 3) Unique events? Thanks for your replies!

Ecuador: How will Cuenca be different in 2017?:

My hope is to retire in 4 years so I'm starting the process to determine where. My plan is to start visiting places and narrowing my list. If I was close to retirement today, Cuenca would be the first place I'd want to visit based on what I've read. So two questions: 1) For those experienced overseas retirees, am I starting this research too soon? 2) For those retirees in Cuenca now, how do you expect things to change over the next 4 years. I realize no one can know anything for sure but based on your experience what do you think? Thanks!
