Ecuador: Thanksgiving Celebrations in Ecuador:

There's plenty of turkeys here, so I imagine the'll be lots of gatherings.. Just sayin

Ecuador: Record numbers renouncing US citizenship:

Crackpot... lol!

Ecuador: Dollar Devaluation Effect:

You could always purchase a home in the Vista Pacifica development.. Then you'd really have something to worry about.

Ecuador: Living and working in Ecuador:

I understand you meet the residency requirements and would like to add that there is a niche for american food in Cuenca. There are approximately 4000 expats living in Cuenca and although there are more and more quality restaurants starting up, there is the possibility for employment as a chef, or even opening of a cafe, for a tasty reminder of what people left behind. I would not count on salary as an employee to make ends meet, but the owner of a cafe...? Several others have done in and are doing very well..

Scotland: Passport time allowance?:

Hello all. Recently retired from the U.S. (California) and would like to spend some quality vacation time in your country. Can you tell me how long I can spend there utilizing a U.S. passport? I also read about Perth being a good central location for travels throughout the country. Any other sound advice is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Ecuador: USMC BIRTHDAY:

@joeno777, that is very gracious of you to accept birthday greetings on behalf of the Marine Corps! Just one little problem with that... joeno777 View Profile Send Private Message Invite into Your Network 10/9/2013 20:27 Vote thumbs up!0 Vote thumbs down!1 Report abuseabuse reply to this message reply Thank you, I will shut up SEMPER PHY. For give me and it is over. Just one question, I have been there, have you? No more nor do I care... I'm pretty sure your posing as a former U.S. Marine has already been exposed. Please don't disrespect the American military any further.

Good for you Casadecuenca/Larry. I was waiting for you to tell us (again) your age of seventy-three. Now I would like to remind you about your post in the Scotland forum (see below). On this (Ecuador) forum, you told "rmoore" that the Scotland post was in 2011 and that you "had no idea" how the post occurred. Look at your own words... Author casadecuenca View Profile Send Private Message Invite into Your Network 9/12/2013 09:59 0 0 abuse reply My wife and I spent almost one month in Scotland in 2008 and fell in love with the country. I am now a widower thinking of Scotland as a retirement home. I am 73 in good health with income of about $1500 US. Is it possible to live in Scotland--in the highlands on that income? Larry, I feel obliged to share this with some of the newer members here so that they can think twice before utilize any of your services. Keep up the exercise.

Ecuador: Firearms:

@Cuencabound I have to assume your "Stand your ground" comment is in reference to the Travon Martin/George ZImmerman case in Florida. You are clearly displaying your ignorance as the defense DID NOT use Florida's Stand Your Ground law as a defense! The Zimmerman defense was that he acted in "Self defense." And generally speaking, your acceptance of the verdict depends largely on your skin pigmentation. And while I'm at it, the same holds true with O.J.

Ecuador: I am doing a documentary film on expats in Ecuador, please read!:

Maybe you should consider doing a documentary about the building and sales of homes in the Vista Pacifica development? There appears to be an interesting story in there somewhere.. (see "Real Estate Brokers" thread). Maybe a piece about North Americans coming to a distant country and wrecking havoc.. About showing how ugly and greedy humans can be?

Ecuador: Real Estate Brokers:

Why in the world would you add fuel to this wildfire???
