Might need to consult w immigration service in Toronto or Ottawa . There are some free ones out there too w advice. I agree the government is slow in responding. I left states, i am Canadian and they wont allow me back in now! I had j ob and family there also. I am going to Guatemala in Jan then Nicaragua and have to pass thru El Salvador ,is it safe for gringos? I'll ride TicaBus Buena Suerte

TD Bank has a reciprocal account with US you can set up for both countries. Am Xpress has Canadian program ,should help establish credit and they do share info I think. Burlington is one of best places to live for sure ,mabye expensive Guelph nice town too. Hamilton has good housinf prices and close to GTA
