Romania: Looking for a driver:

You don't say where you are and what your needs of a driver/car are.

Romania: RH drive Subaru Forester 2004:

I am leaving Romania and returning to Australia. I am exploring the cost of freighting the car to Australia as it is a superb car. However, I will also consider selling it if I can find anyone who wants a RH drive car. I paid GBP 5000 6 months ago but will sell for a lot less if I can find someone who is moving from Romania to GB and wants a very reliable and comfortable RH drive car. Any suggestions on either freighting or selling the car would be appreciated.

Romania: Anyone from Ploiesti?:

Sorry, I am in Ramnicu Valcea. Be prepared to deal with the stray dogs which are everywhere in Romania. In Ramnicu Valcea they are sweet natured, but in Bucharest they have started killing. Also try to find somewhere to live where your neighbours do not have dogs. They leave them outside at night, and the barking is incessant if your neighbours have dogs - all mine have dogs so I have about 10 dogs around me barking on and off all night. I find myself permanently distressed by the dogs here - there are many injured strays and neglected pets. It's not a place for animal lovers, so bring your thick skin and wear it at all times.

Romania: Getting together:

OK, you English speaking ex-pats in Romania, I know this is a big country, but we could still be talking to one another over Skype and helping one another work out how to live as strangers in a strange land. Who wants to start a Skype group where we have a regular get-together? Where I am in Ramnicu Valcea, the internet is fantastic, so if it is equally high quality in other areas we should be able to video conference. Anyone either in with this idea, or know of a group already doing it?

Romania: Staying connected while travelling across Europe:

Does anyone think they know the best way of maintaining a mobile phone connection and and internet connection while travelling across Europe to Romania? I cannot find a cheap global roaming and my current provider (3) does not do data roaming. Any ideas?

Romania: Getting a car from UK to Romania:

Does anyone know of a cheap way of transporting a car from the UK to Romania. So far the best quote I have is GBP4500 which is far too much. I need to find something much cheaper or I will have to drive all the way myself on the wrong side of the car on the wrong side of the road.
