The archives won't do this research for you, you have to go there or hire a local genealogist to do the work. It's not that costly, if you want to find a local genealogist, buy/order a genealogy magazine (like "Généalogie") and you will find plenty of such ads.

France: Americans in the Center of France:

I am an American citizen who retired in the center of France (between Bourges and Clezrmont Ferrand) 2 years ago; there is an English Club where I live, and quite few retired UK citizens, but no Americans. I's like to meet Americans living in the area--if there are some.
