Laos: Moving to Vientiane from UK with Cat:

Hi, I'll be moving to Laos from England in just over a months time, it's all very exciting and can't wait. However I'd to see if I've missed anything before its too late! I'll want to bringing my cat with me, we just had her microchipped and got a pet passport, as well as rabies jabbed. Most stuff I have read suggests that I need an import document from the Laos government, is this hard to organise? What experience have people had with cat importing? We're currently having a house built not far from the Friendship Bridge, should be completed in about 5 months. Is there much of an expat community in Vientiane? I know the popular "felang" cafe area ;)
